When technology only serves the powerful, democracy suffers.

Technology is advancing at an extraordinary pace — but right now, the benefits flow almost entirely to the most powerful companies in the world. Tech for The People exists to change that. We make sure these same advances help ordinary citizens have their voices heard, get the answers they need, and access the opportunities they deserve. Starting in Oklahoma, building for the nation.

About Us

Technology has never been more powerful — or more unevenly distributed. Tech for The People is a 501(c)(4) nonprofit that exists to change that. We embrace technological change and find new ways to apply it for the benefit of all Americans — whether that means building free tools for civic engagement, making government more transparent, helping people access services, or ensuring emerging technologies benefit all citizens. Founded in Tulsa, Oklahoma, our first projects serve Oklahomans — but our vision has no borders.

Governance

Tech for The People is governed by organizational leadership and a board of directors committed to advancing the public interest through equitable, citizen-centered technology.
